The Pricing & Analytics Specialist is responsible for maintaining price structures for both the purchase and sales of fuel products. This individual will also support the Supply division with pricing analysis on current and potential fuel supply decisions to maximize the company’s purchasing and allocation strategy. The Pricing & Analytics Specialist will work closely with the Manager of Supply & Logistics to promote the most efficient and profitable supply and logistics planning for the company.
Analyzing supplier pricing and making recommendations on best price selections and resource allocation planning.
Maintaining daily and ad hoc pricing data for tracking, reporting, and analytics.
Updating pricing at AFD’s network of cardlock locations throughout Western Canada.
Advising on and approving/rejecting customer pricing setups for new customer locations.
Monitoring branch and customer margins and enacting changes as required.
Providing support to Supply, Sales, and Business Development staff on pricing matters and the formation of quoting and bid materials.
Conducting research, as required, on market pricing and trends that may affect company decisions.
Collaborating with various internal departments to provide reporting content to applicable government agencies.
Identifying and troubleshooting inventory costing issues related to purchase transactions.
Actively working with AFD’s Transport division to ensure alignment of goals and proper allocation of revenue between Supply, Branches, and Transport divisions.
Assist Supply with selection of transportation types and routes to maximize economy and efficiency.
Conduct research and attain market pricing data for analysis and consideration in price establishment.
Collaborate with necessary company departments to provide reporting content to applicable Government agencies.
OTHER KEY SKILLS (or product knowledge)
Expert level understanding of building and maintaining business workflow processes and programs.
Critical evaluation skills to assess and make recommendations on customer markets and business operations.
Computer literacy, including expert working knowledge with Excel and effective working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Adobe products, and other business support software.
Strong organizational, planning, and implementing skills.
Customer centric focus while supporting internal business functions.
Presentation writing and verbal communication skills. Must be confident and comfortable communicating with executive level management.
Minimum 5 – 10 years in a Business Analyst role.
Minimum 2 – 5 years of Process Management experience.
Experience in working with the major fuel providers or in the Fuel or Transportation Industries.
Experienced in customer pricing systems, set up, and maintenance.
Experience with ERP and other software systems such as Octane, Microsoft Dynamics, Truefill, Blue Cow – Ignite, and/or Avalara.
Bachelor of Commerce, Business Administration, or any other related post- secondary certification.
