Job Description


Shop Foreman


The shop laborer will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the shop, vehicles, and equipment while following strict guidelines for safety and environmental protection. Organizing and all duties will be performed with a consistently high focus on customer service, safety and environmental protection.


  • Follow all AFD policies and procedures, along with government compliance regulations for the safe handling of products.
  • Loading and/or unloading product being shipped or received.
  • Opening bales, crates, and other containers
  • Inspect inbound product.
  • Sorting of materials or products on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Sort parts for each project or unit number.
  • Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to other designated areas, with proper use of material handling equipment, such as pallet jack, steel strapping etc.
  • Clean area after each task is completed
  • Ensuring shop / work area is accessible and safe for everyone.
  • Maintain cleanliness of shop at all times to AFD standards.
  • Marking materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
  • Pick-up and delivery errands as required.
  • Wash Tanks and equipment as required.
  • May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
  • Sweeping, dusting, and mopping.
  • Organizing shop and work area for orderliness at all times.
  • Wearing the proper safety equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • 1-2 years’ experience in a warehouse/laborer capacity


High School Diploma

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office/field setting. There may be a need to attend to situations on work sites.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. Exposure to noise, dust, odors, fumes and oils may occur. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and listen.

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some overtime and after hours’ work may be required.

Travel to various worksites and customer premises may be required.
