Job Description

The Supply Coordinator is responsible the daily coordination of AFD’s fuel supply from various vendors to meet the needs of our customers.  This position will play a key role in implementing strategic supply initiatives while managing daily support functions.  You will assist in planning and implementing comprehensive internal fuel supply strategies that positively affect supply, revenue, and profitability. The Supply Coordinator will be expected to collaborate with a with a wide variety of stakeholders across sales, operations, and technology, on day-to-day execution, systems integration, training, and continuous improvement opportunities.

Essential Functions

  • Efficiently and proactively monitor the supply activities of the company; make recommendations as required.
  • Create and monitor fuel volume forecasts to identify required changes and to determine their effect on the company’s activities.
  • Select principal supply locations to maximize economics and efficiency with a focus on pricing, distribution, and collaboration with the transportation team.
  • Coordinate with internal staff, suppliers, and customers to resolve supply and logistical issues.
  • Support management team in assigned regions as necessary.
  • Identify and analyze supply information to give early warnings of potential problems and recommends corrective action.
  • Maintain and foster relationships with customer accounts to advise of fuel supply changes, direction on lifting points, and problem resolution.
  • Coordinate sales and operations planning for fuel supply including, supply / demand forecasting, systems pricing set up, inventory management, and delivery logistics.
  • Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, to provide performance feedback, or to discuss production forecasts or changes.
  • Assist in negotiations with suppliers, vendors, or principal logistics providers.
  • Conduct market research and analysis and provide market updates to the management group.
  • Assist in establishing overall long and short-term supply goals and objectives for the Company along with the other members of the senior management team.
  • Collaborate with necessary company departments to provide reporting content to appropriate government agencies.
  • Remain current with external business markets and the industry for identifying new market opportunities for business, sourcing, and company optimization.
  • Manage projects starting with developing and aligning with stakeholders on scope, establishing key milestones and seeing the project through to completion.

Preferred Requirements, Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary education focused on Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transportation, or Business.
  • Professional Logistics Associate (P. Log), Certification in Logistics, Transportation & Distribution (CLTD), and/or CITT-Certified Logistics Professional (CCLP) certifications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of supply chains: including, but not limited to carriers such as railways, trucking, and shipping
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in Transportation, Logistics, Sales Coordination, Customer Service, or Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum 2 – 5 years of experience in a role where analytical and critical thinking skills were required.
  • Minimum 1 – 2 years of fuel industry experience.
  • Strong communication skills to deliver in a fast-changing environment, with the ability to work collaboratively, as well as independently, and manage your time to meet deadlines.
  • Advanced negotiating skills to influence decisions and achieve consensus while building positive relationships and credibility.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and related software systems such as Microsoft 365 CRM, Axxis, Octane, Avalara, or BlueCow.
  • Strong project management with organizational, strategic, planning and implementing skills.
  • High level of individual initiative, motivation, a focus on quality of work, and attention to detail.
