The HSE Field Advisor would be responsible for training, implementation/revision of new and existing policies and procedures as they pertain to the AFD HSE & Loss Prevention Manual. The HSE Advisor will work closely with the HSE Manager and provide assist with safety related administrative tasks in support of all company branch managers.
-Conduct worksite behavioral based observations and driver evaluations
- Conduct workplace inspections, employee contractor safety programs, etc.
-Understand, use, and maintain any & all safety equipment or processes related to that equipment as required by AFD
-Travel to recovery sites to assist with and complete investigations when necessary
-Travel to AFD Branches for compliance inspections and audits as directed
-Assist Managers in maintaining and enhancing a safe work environment
-Compiles reports for the HSE Manager so that the information may be shared with the management team and/or executives including but not limited to Incident Reports, Field -Level Reports, Weekly/Monthly Performance Reports
- Annual reviews of Safe Work Practices and Procedures
- Attend and/or administer regular safety meetings
- Complete any internal training in the field
-Certification tracking in the field
Other Key Skills (or product knowledge)
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe products and e-mail required. Working knowledge of ISNetworld, CanQUAL, Complyworks is considered an asset.
- Detailed working knowledge Federal and Provincial Health & Safety legislation
3 years of transportation experience required
Safety certification training (e.g., OHS Certificate and/or NCSO Designation) is required
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in the field of commercial transportation and strong understanding of NSC preferred
